Logo design
A logo that stays legible at any size, and in one colour.
What this is for
One mark that has to carry the name everywhere it appears. A logo is used at sizes and in conditions nobody designs for: stitched, engraved, printed in a single colour, shrunk into a browser tab, laid over a photograph. The work is producing one shape that survives all of that rather than one that looks best on a presentation slide. What is delivered is a set of files and rules, not a single picture.
What it covers
- Concepts and routes
Genuinely distinct directions rather than variations on one idea, so the choice being put to you is a real choice.
- Full lockup set
Horizontal, stacked, mark-only and whatever else the business actually needs, each one drawn and spaced rather than derived by stretching another.
- Source vector files
The editable originals in open formats, so the mark can be reproduced at any size by anybody you work with later.
- Usage rules
Minimum sizes, clear space, what may sit behind it, and the specific things that must not be done to it.
What you end up with
- The mark, in every lockup
Each arrangement drawn and spaced on its own terms, rather than produced by scaling a single file.
- Source vector files
Editable originals in open formats, together with exported versions for everyday use.
- One-colour and reversed versions
For print, engraving, embroidery and dark backgrounds, where the full-colour version does not reproduce.
- Rules for using it
Short enough to actually be read, covering size, spacing, and the misuses that come up in practice.
What we need from you
- What the business is called
The exact name, including how it is written and capitalised, since the mark is built around it.
- Where it has to appear first
A van, a shopfront, an app icon and a letterhead each pull the design in a different direction, and the first of them matters most.
- Anything the mark has to sit beside
Accreditations, a parent brand, or partner marks that will share the same space.
